The catalogue of Viagra woes
Thursday, December 10th, 2009According to reports from a local television station in a village community near Orlando, Florida, sexually transmitted diseases were on the rise among senior citizens, with Viagra being mentioned as the major cause.
A gynaecologist talking to the Local 6 news channel said that she had had to treat more cases of herpes and the human papilloma virus among the senior citizens – some of the men in their eighties — than she ever did when she was working in the glamorous night-life city of Miami.
For men who use online Viagra tablets frequently, some possible side-effects of the diamond-shaped drug include headaches, vision problems and upset stomachs. Also, TV advertisements for Viagra tablets and the other erectile dysfunction drugs warn that users should seek medical advice should they experience an erection that is longer than four hours.
An enthusiastic 58-year-old Viagra in the UK who admits that he was having so much fun with the little blue pills, wakes up one morning to find that he could only see things in shades of blue. The man said, ‘I could give up sex only to see a red post-box again.’ The man went on to console himself by saying, ‘At least I’m a Chelsea fan.’
In addition, cheap, and often dangerous, imitations of online Viagra tablets that can be found on the internet for a fraction of the normal price could carry risk of abnormal side effects.
A 35 yr-old, Canadian IT worker, Mark after swallowing a blue diamond-shaped pill – one that he was unable to verify as a real Viagra tablet – at a party the previous year, developed an erection that refused to go away. Eight hours after taking the pill, Mark was taken to an emergency room in a hospital and the erection lasted for a week.
After series of painful procedures that involved needles, as a last-ditch resort, a surgery was carried out on Mark before the erection could be brought under control.
According to Mark, ‘The entire episode was really embarrassing, the pain was unbelievable. I was taught a lesson, and I was lucky that the erection did not lead to permanent damage.’
There are, however, positive aspects to Viagra. The ability of online Viagra tablets to enhance the flow of blood can have important, life-saving results, according to a research.
Viagra has been recently credited with saving the life of premature baby weighing only one pound eight ounces, after doctors in the US injected him with the wonder drug to enhance the flow of blood to his failing lungs.
Local residents of Ringaskiddy, where the raw material for Viagra is being processed before being shipped off for further production, have grown weary of repeated gags that fumes from the Pfizer plant have made the residents very frisky.
Also, reports this week shows that Colin Farrell may be playing a lead role in a comic Hollywood movie – titled: Something in the Air – based on an account of Irish villagers whose libidos increased overnight after inhaling Viagra fumes.
According to Tara Delaney, a spokesperson for Pfizer, ‘Several major American television networks rolled into Ringaskiddy some years back after reports suggested that there had been a dramatic increase in population of rabbit in the town.
Delaney added with a patient air that suggests she is accustomed to answering inane queries from giggly reporters: “Obviously, the company regards its environmental responsibilities as very important and none of the active ingredient would be released into the environment at all.”
